As you tour Jamestown Settlement, you will learn about the voyage of the Susan Constant, Godspeed, and Discovery and what life was like for the 104 men who survived the voyage as they settled amongst the Powhatan Indians. Walk through an early church, dress up in period clothing, climb on the cannons, and help carve out a canoe. The kids will love playing in the outdoor living history section of Jamestown Settlement.
Water Country, USA.
If you or your kids need a break from history and cultural lessons, consider a visit to Water Country, USA. Virginia’s largest water park has 11 rides and slides, a wave pool, and plenty of water activities for younger kids. Water Country, USA is a great place to cool down in the summer and a good night’s sleep will be on the cards once you get back to your resort.

Virginia Beach
This stunning beach is not technically in Williamsburg, but Virginia Beach is so accessible from Williamsburg that it makes a great day trip if you want to hit the sand and catch a tan. Virginia Beach is Virginia’s top tourist destination, so expect crowds, but you can always enjoy the boardwalk and catch some waves if you are up for trying your hand at surfing.
The Williamsburg Winery
The Williamsburg winery is a beautiful Vineyard with a nostalgic old world feel, set in the beautiful rolling hills of Virginia. The Reserve Tour includes a walk around the grounds, information about the process of making the wine, and a detailed tour of the facility including the bottling process room, barrel room and a tasting of some of their reserve wines. If you visit around lunch time, be sure to eat at the restaurant located in the complex. Great food and you can try varieties of their wine there as well.
Marriott’s Manor Club
