There are three parks located less than an hour away from Marbella’s center, and all of them have developed a reputation for safety. While there are a lot of similarities in the attractions and prices that these parks offer, they differ in the types of crowds they attract.

Aquatico Mijas Park In Fuengirola
The nearest water park to Marbella is the Aquatico Mijas, located in Fuengirola. It is a compact park – the smallest of the water parks on the Costa del Sol. It is best suited for families with small children, since it is small enough for you to keep an eye on your kids while they have fun at the attractions. It is also one of the least crowded of Malaga’s parks.
Aquamijas is home to five water slides, with the Kiddie Slide and Lizard Island designed for little ones. The Body Ski, Labyrinth Slide and Kamikaze are designed for older kids. There are also several jacuzzis, a wall for rock-climbing and a mini-golf course. In addition, there are gardens and picnic areas for families to relax in.
Amenities at the park include a self-service restaurant, a cafeteria and a pizza and ice-cream kiosk. Hammocks, a game room, shop and bar are also available. The park is open from April through September.
Free parking is available, along with a bus service from Fuengirola during opening hours (from 10.30 am). Ticket prices range from 12.50 Euros for kids up to 7 years to 23.50 Euros for adults.
There are special prices for senior citizens, and special family offers as well. Aqualand is Costa del Sol’s largest water park, and also the oldest. This park is part of a chain of thirteen water parks across Europe, operated by Aspro Ocio, a Spanish tourism group. The park is located five minutes from the Torremolinos center, and thirty minutes away from Marbella. Aqualand is reasonably family friendly, with a host of activities and attractions for the whole family. At the same time, it also draws adult crowds seeking adrenaline rush.
Spread across more than 70,000 square meters of swimming pools, landscaped gardens and other attractions, the park is home to fifteen slides for kids and nineteen slides for adults. It is also home to Europe’s highest water slide, the 22 meter high Kamikaze. The Boomerang is another attraction to watch for. Kids also have a wave pool and a separate children’s area to enjoy their experience.
Other high-adrenaline attractions include the Black Hole, Crazy Race and Multipista. Kids can enjoy their day out at the Laguna Tropical, Children’s Paradise or Aquatic Mushroom. There is fun for the whole family at Surf Beach. Adults can also chill out at the two outdoor bubble pools.
Amenities at the park include three food kiosks selling fast food and the buffet and a la carte style restaurant La Palapa. The park is open from May to September, and hours are from 11 am to 6 or 7 pm depending on the month. Current ticket prices range from 10 Euros (for toddlers) to 26 Euros (for adults), with special prices for senior citizens. Discounts can be enjoyed with tickets purchased online.

While the parks at Mijas and Torremolinos are the most conveniently located if you are staying at the Marriott Marbella Beach Club Resort,there is another water park located in Algeciras that is only 25 minutes drive from the Marriott Playa Andaluza Beach Club. This is called Bahia Park and is considered one of the best parks in the region. It has eight big slides, many of which have inner tubes to amp the speed and fun.
It is home to the largest jacuzzi (for up to fifty people) in Andalucia, ziplining, slides for children and plenty of other amenities.
Bahia Park is open from June through August. Opening hours range from 10.30 am or 11 am, till 7 pm or 7.30 pm depending on the season.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
