2. Skina

Yet another in the range of creative Michelin restaurants in Marbella, Skina is tiny but stylish and has been around since 2005. While it is far from the beach and located in the Old Town of Marbella, it offers stellar cuisine that makes up for the lack of a view. Inside, the focus is on the food. The decor is simple, with stark white walls with bold artwork, high-backed leather chairs and some colorful crystal glasses and porcelain plates. The double chef kitchen led by Daniel Rosado and Victor Trochi recently won a Michelin star for its creative tasting and a la carte menu of international and Spanish cuisine. Seafood and meat are strong features on the menu. Expect mains like Iberian pork with red butter ice cream and eel risotto topped with sea bass. Start your meal with a fig martini topped with shaved truffle and enjoy other items like duck foie gras Moroccan style.

3. Garnacha

Small but charming Garnacha is a delightful tapas bar run by a husband and wife team, and it has a traditional ambiance in which to enjoy a variety of flavors. The interiors are warm and quaint, ideal for a romantic meal surrounded by big mirrors and quirky furniture. The menu offers tapas, full or half portions of exotic combinations of items. 4. Paco Jimenez

Located in the lovely Plaza de los Naranjos in Marabella’s Old Town, this restaurant offers a warm and intimate ambiance and high quality cuisine. Owner and Chef Paco Jimenez is a gold medalist from the World Gastronomic Meeting held in Santa Cruz de la Sierra in Bolivia. The menu he offers is a seasonal one that changes constantly. Expect eclectic and innovative Mediterranean dishes such as rack of lamb served with marmalade sauce or the rosemary rabbit confit. Good portions of side dishes accompany each item, and desserts like the tarta de queso complete a fantastic meal.

5. Restaurante Messina

This contemporary open-plan restaurant near the Old Town, with red chairs and wooden floors offers a high-end gastronomic experience. The menu is creative and designed by Chef Mauricio Giovanni using local produce, and new textures and flavors to local delicacies- try the taster menu if you’re feeling adventurous.
