The world renowned Marriott Hotel Group are now promising cheaper accommodation for those who become members of their rewards program. Marriott have recently announced that they will be offering lower booking rates to those who sign up to the Marriott Rewards program, which is free for existing timeshare owners and new customers alike. As from April the 11th, subscribers of this loyalty program will be entitled to cheaper rates of accommodation, providing they book directly via Marriott- this includes through their website, mobile app and also several recommended travel agents.

Membership Levels
The Marriott Rewards program is divided into four membership levels based on paid nights per calendar year: basic member, Silver Elite, Gold Elite and Platinum Elite.
Basic Member
This is the status you earn simply by signing up for free. Becoming a member enables you to earn and redeem points at Marriott or Marriott-affiliated hotels.
Silver Elite
Staying 10 qualifying nights (nights for which you pay full price at any participating Marriott property) within one calendar year will get you Silver Elite status. To keep your status, much like loyalty schemes of airlines, you are required to stay with Marriott for a minimum of 10 nights each year. Not only do you get all of the basic member level benefits, you are also entitled to the Ultimate Reservation Guarantee: which means that if Marriott fails to honor your reservation, the hotel will reimburse you and pay for your accommodations elsewhere in the area. There are also several other perks like late checkout to be enjoyed.
Gold Elite
You need to stay 50 qualifying nights in a single calendar year to achieve Gold Elite status. As a Gold Elite member, you’ll are entitled to all of the the benefits enjoyed by Silver Elite members, but instead earn a 25 percent bonus in addition to base points. Gold Elite status also comes with free upgraded Internet access, complimentary room upgrades and a room-type guarantee, which ensures your bed size preference (depending on availability). On top of this you will also receive a complimentary breakfast in elite member lounges at participating JW Marriott, Autograph Collection, Renaissance and Marriott-brand hotels.
Platinum Elite
Stay 75 qualifying nights in one calendar year, and you’ll earn Platinum Elite status. As a Platinum Elite member, you get all the benefits of Silver and Gold Elite members, plus the exclusive “48 Hour Guaranteed Availability” promise. Providing you make a reservation two days prior to your arrival, you will automatically be guaranteed a room at participating Marriott and Marriott-affiliated hotels. You’ll also receive a welcome gift upon arrival at participating properties.
